Scuba diving and snorkeling are arguably the most popular water sports in Caribbean waters. Almost every charter has snorkeling equipment but only select charters offer Scuba aboard.
If a boat does not offer Scuba aboard, the captain may arrange for what is known as "Rendezvous" diving. This is probably the most popular option for diving. Under this option a dive company picks up the divers from the charter yacht for the dive trip. In most cases you pay for this service directly to the dive company.
Some boats are fully equipped for diving and provide most if not all of the equipment. Many of these boats offer "open" water tests for Scuba certification. Some offer a "resort course" which allows for non-divers to learn and dive accompanied by an instructor down to a maximum depth of 30 feet.
Another popular option is for divers to bring their own dive equipment aboard. However, under this option, the boat, the captain, nor the crew assume any responsibility for the dive(s) or diver(s). Most captains will be happy to take divers diving, however they will be on their own.
Please advise us of your Scuba certification status, be it SSI, NAUI, PADI, ect., or if you require boats that offer any of the options above. We can help you arrange for almost any kind of dive you desire.
